It has been said that when you know, you know. That love can hit you like a train, or it can grow on you gradually. That it is something so precious that most lose sight of it and don’t even know they have it.
Well, the love that hit me was as swift as the train we were riding on. It was beautiful and empowering but the journey felt like it was over before it really began. At the end of the Great War, he and I met. Who knew it would be love, I certainly didn’t. I am thankful it was though.
I only knew him briefly, but our love burned bright. He was my all for those three short days. The gift he gave me afterwards would be my all for all for the rest of eternity and something I could never thank him enough for.
